Information on PTO dues

PTO Dues Support More than Just the Directory…
 
Paying your WHS PTO dues is an excellent way to support your children’s high school experience.  The monies collected from dues support a wide range of academic, extra-curricular, and community-building activities that the PTO sponsors throughout the year.
 
How does the PTO use these funds?  Each year, students, teachers and administration apply to the PTO for grants.  Last year, the PTO funded grant requests to:
  • pay dues for the Amnesty International club to join the worldwide organization,
  • offset costs for Faculty athletic jerseys for the various Student-Faculty contests organized each year,
  • pay for a speaker to discuss bullying,
  • pay for supplies for hallway decorating for Homecoming week,
  • pay for supplies for a sushi-making workshop by the Asian Culture Club, and
  • many others
 
In addition to the grants, the PTO offers scholarships to graduating seniors, sponsors student study workshops, sponsors and recognizes the “Wolverine Award for Excellence in Teaching”, and celebrates academic achievement by supporting HuRRAR. The PTO also publishes and distributes the high school directory in the fall of each school year.
 
WHS PTO is currently accepting membership dues of $30 per student, with a maximum of $40 per family.

Aleternatively, you can pay dues at the PTO tables at the Activities Fair on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 or at the Curriculum Night on Wednesday, October 4, 2012.  You can also complete the form below and send a check for $30 or $40 made out to the WHS PTO and mail it to Kathleen McDonough, 62 Conant Rd., Westwood 02090.  Be sure to include your name, address, phone, email, and your child’s name and grade as indicated.  Please also indicate if you would like to help in any volunteer capacity in working with WHS PTO Committee members.
