The Westwood Early Childhood Advisory Council (WECC) acts in an advisory capacity to further the goals and objectives of the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) grant program. The council works to ensure local coordination and maximize local participation in early education and care services and programs to best service children and their families. The council coordinates and plans activities that benefit children ages birth through age eight.
Westwood Early Childhood Council welcomes new members to become involved in early childhood services, activities and programs that serve the community of Westwood. Our current Early Childhood Council is comprised of Early Educators from Westwood area programs, Parents, and Representatives from the Westwood Public Library, Youth and Family Services, Recreation, and Regional Agencies. Janet Lucey is the Early Childhood Coordinator.
In addition to bringing your insight and ideas, you can play an important role in identifying needs of and resources for young children, their families, and programs.
The commitment to attend a monthly one-hour meeting is minimal but the impact of your involvement is significant. Meetings are held quarterly. All meetings are open meetings and all are welcome.
