The Hanlon School PTO is comprised of Hanlon School parents and staff members with the mission of supporting teaching and learning at Hanlon School. The Executive Board is comprised of a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. There are several committee and sub-committee chairs who lead specific initiatives.  All leadership positions are held by Hanlon parents. The Executive Board meets periodically with the Hanlon principal and with the committee chairs. The entire PTO meets regularly throughout the year, sometimes during the school day and sometimes in the evening.

The PTO supports the school in many ways. For example, they:

  • purchase classroom supplies
  • pay for buses for field trips
  • schedule cultural arts programs
  • organize family events like picnics, game nights, and fundraisers
  • organize student extra-curricular activities
  • sponsor the school play
  • provide parents with information about the school and resources available in town
