Catie's Closet Donation Box

There will be a donation box for Catie's closet outside of the Sheehan office until November 11th.  They will be collecting clean clothing, and basic toiletries for children in need.

Catie's Closet improves school attendance and removes social stigma by providing an in-school resource of clothing and basic necessities to students living below the poverty line. For more information, visit Catie’s Closet on line.

How Does Catie's closet Help Children?

1. An unused room within a school in need  is converted into a "Catie's Closet" as a permanent resource for at-need students.

2. Children are given access to the "Closet," in a discreet manner, by trusted faculty members.

3. Students are allowed to take a change of clothes, toiletries to wash up, and/or gather a week's worth of clothing

4. The "Closet" is restocked with donated clothing, climate and age-appropriate, on a regular basis.

Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause.

Good Citizenship Challenge

Last Tuesday at our Open Share, we were visited by four former Sheehan students now Westwood High School juniors.  Jack Stebbins, Will Danforth, Emma Harte and Oriana Attridge spoke to all Sheehan students about how to be great citizens.  They reinforced with our students our Sheehan Core 4 values and talked about the different ways to be good citizens in our Sheehan School community and in the Westwood community.

Jack, Will, Emma, and Oriana asked ALL Sheehan students to participate in The CItizenship Challenge.

As Citizens, we ask you to:

  • Participate in ALL Sheehan Student Council Service Projects.
  • Complete a community service activity outside the Sheehan School.
  • Consistently show kind and respectful behavior.
  • Always act responsibly.
  • Follow the Sheehan Core Four Values.

Our students have been asked to keep a log of their service. Our WHS students will be meeting with our students to check in at our December Open Share and have our students share some examples of good citizenship. Please see the attached documents for The Citizenship Challenge.

We hope all students will participate!
