Early-Release Day on Wednesday, December 6th

Wednesday, December 6th will be an early-release day for students due to parent-teacher conferences. Students will be dismissed at 11:25am and lunch will not be served in school.


Holiday Gift Shop Volunteers

The Deerfield Holiday Gift Shop is Wednesday, December 6th. The Holiday Gift Shop is an annual Deerfield tradition that allows kids to buy gifts for their loved ones with the help of volunteers. Please consider volunteering for the Holiday Gift Shop on December 6th. Volunteers are needed to set up, sell gifts, wrap gifts, sell pizza & water, assist shoppers, assist students with crafts & cookie decorating, clean-up, etc.

SEPAC Meeting (flyer)

Please read the attached flyer regarding the next SEPAC meeting on December 11th. The topic of the meeting will be Talking About Diagnostic "Labels" and Understanding at Home.


The following SEPAC meeting will be held on February 6th. The topic of that meeting will be Mental Health. A speaker from "Minding Your Mind" will share the presentation Just Talk About.


School Committee Meeting on Thursday, December 14th

The monthly School Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, December 14th beginning at 7:00pm at Westwood High School.



Staffing Update

Please join me in welcoming Mr. Steve Southwick as Deerfield's new daytime custodian. Mr. Southwick worked previously as Deerfield's evening custodian and most recently has worked at the Martha Jones Elementary school.

Deerfield's School Committee liaison for the 2017-2018 school year is Carol Lewis. Please feel free to contact Ms. Lewis if you have any questions or feedback to share regarding the Deerfield Elementary School or Westwood Public Schools.
