Arrival and Dismissal for Car Pick-Ups and Walkers

Here are a few reminders that will help arrival and dismissal run smoothly and safely:

  • Please pull forward, as far as you can go.
  • Please stay in your cars the entire time, if possible. We are happy to help open doors and buckle students’ seat belts.
  • Please do not pass the cars in front of you. If there are no students actively getting in or out of a car, then Mr. Baumer or a staff member will stand on the outside of the parked car and wave you past to move the process along as quickly as possible. However, please do not pass a car unless you are directed to do so.
  • Especially for dismissal, please have a placard with your child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher clearly displayed in the dashboard or passenger’s side window.

Thank you so much for your help to keep our morning arrival and dismissal times running safely and smoothly.

Staffing Update

Deerfield’s Library Teacher, Mrs. Krass, will return to Deerfield during the week or December 6th. Mrs. Sullivan-Hall will remain at Deerfield through the end of next week to allow for some overlap/transition time.

Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Krass back to Deerfield and thanking Mrs. Sullivan-Hall for her dedication to our school and tremendous efforts in our library over the past several months.

Reminder: Deerfield Site Council

We are looking for one or two Deerfield parents to serve on the Deerfield Site Council this year. The Deerfield Site Council is a school advisory group that is composed on parents, teachers, and community members. The council members assist the principal in: 1) Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards, 2) identifying the educational needs of students attending the school, 3) reviewing the annual school building budget, and 4) discussing a school improvement plan.

The Deerfield Site Council meets monthly throughout the year. Our meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. Please contact Mr. Baumer if you are interested in serving on the Deerfield Site Council during the 2021-2022 school year.
