Car Line

During COVID, we started a new Arrival and Dismissal Procedure where all cars dropping off or picking up their child as "Car Line" pull into our horseshoe-shaped driveway, are greeted by a Sheehan Staff member, and drop off or pick up their child.  Before pulling into our horseshoe-shaped driveway, cars line up along Pond Street ahead of the crosswalk waiting for a signal from our crossing guard to pull into the driveway.

We continue to implement this Arrival and Dismissal Procedure as it has worked out well overall.  That being said, lately there are a number of cars that are parking and leaving their vehicles along Pond Street to pick their child up as a "Walker" on our playground. The cars that are parking along Pond Street by the field are disrupting the flow of the "car line" at Arrival and Dismissal.

If you are picking up or dropping off your child as a "Walker", please park in the very front of of the Sheehan or on the side roads such as Pond Plain Street.

Thank you for your attention to this request.

James and the Giant Peach at TMS

My name is Jen Walsh and I am a drama teacher at the middle school. This year TMS is producing a spring musical that might be of interest to elementary families, James and the Giant Peach! We have heard that some elementary teachers have their students read the book in school! If you have a method of weekly digital communication with families we would appreciate it if you would consider including an announcement about our show! Below is our publicity announcement and our poster is attached as a pdf and jpg:

Come see the Thurston Middle School musical, James and the Giant Peach! This musical is a stage adaptation of the classic book by Roald Dahl. Come see James as he journeys on the giant peach, makes new friends, and discovers a new family. Performances will take place at the high school auditorium Thursday April 4 at 7pm, Friday April 5 at 7pm and Saturday April 6 at 2pm. Tickets are now available online at tms.ludus.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the door with apple pay and credit card only. We hope to see you at the show!
