Valentine's Day

If your child is having a classroom celebration on or around Valentine’s Day, please make sure that any food items are approved by our School Nurse, Mrs. DeAngelis, at least two days prior to the event. She cannot safely approve food items the day of a classroom celebration.

If your child is bringing in cards for his/her classmates, please not include candy or food items. If candy or food is included with the cards, students will be instructed to not eat the items at school and bring them home unopened for parent approval.

WY&FS Structured Play Groups

The following message is from Westwood Youth & Family Services:

Dear School Partners,

We wanted let you know about openings for our upcoming 2nd/3rd grade Structured Play Group, which runs on Tuesdays starting next week February 6th. We are looking for at least three students to join this playgroup!

Do you know of a 2nd/3rd grade student who would enjoy a Structured Play Group? Perhaps they are interested in building friendships and meeting new students in Westwood, or they would benefit from practicing social skills in a small setting? There are several spots available, so a student could even sign up with a peer!

Although this group starts soon, we are happy to take students who register within the first couple of weeks. Please pass on the details below to any families who may be interested in this program. We also have additional openings for Kindergarten/1st grade groups listed below starting in March.

Thank you,
Nina
