Early-Release Day on Wednesday, March 16th

Wednesday, March 16th will be an early-release day for all students. Students will be dismissed at 11:25am and lunch will not be served in school.

 

Deerfield Extension Project

The Deerfield Extension Project began this week. As I shared last week, this project will have an impact on Deerfield's arrival and dismissal times through the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year. 

 

Beginning on Wednesday, March 16th, the "cut-through" behind Town Hall and the Westwood Police Department will be closed for the duration of the construction project. As a result, all traffic to and from the Deerfield school will have to go through Gay Street to Deerfield Avenue. In order to maintain safe and orderly arrival and dismissal times, it is imperative that parents and guardians only live park in the front circle when dropping off and picking up their children. Parents and guardians will not be permitted to park in the circle and get out of their cars during these times. This safety procedure will be enforced during all afternoon dismissal time. Members of the Westwood Police Department will be present to help.

 

On Thursday, March 17th, several parking spots on the side of the school will be blocked off for one day only. The construction company will be clearing some trees on the other side of Deerfield Avenue on that day. The construction work will be coordinated to not interfere with our arrival and dismissal times.

 

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences begin at the end of this month. Spring conferences offer a valuable opportunity for teachers and parents to discuss a child's progress since September and set goals for the remaining portion of the school year. If you have not done so, please sign-up for a conference through your child's classroom teacher. 

 

Our conference dates are:

Wednesday, March 30th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Thursday, April 7th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Wednesday, April 13th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
