Spring 2022 MCAS Results and Student Reports

The Student Reports containing Spring 2022 ELA and Math MCAS results were mailed home on Friday, October 14th. These reports will only be received by parents of current fourth and fifth grade students who attended the Deerfield School during the 2021-2022 school year. 

 

Please let Mrs. Abdou or Mr. Baumer know if you have not received the Student Report by Wednesday, October 19th. Also, please let Mr. Baumer know if you have any questions about the report or would like to discuss your child's results.

 

 

Staffing Update

Deerfield's grade 2 teacher, Mrs. Kennedy, will return to Deerfield on Monday, October 17th. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Kennedy back! Ms. Wilkes will be at Deerfield through all of this week. Please join me in thanking Ms. Kennedy for all she has done to help our second-grade students and school community have a successful and productive start to the school year. We have been so fortunate to have Ms. Wilkes with us!

 

 

Student Council Fundraiser

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Our Grade 5 Student Council members would like to support this cause by raising money. Students and staff members can purchase a pink pin for 50 cents or just make a donation during the daily lunch periods. The donation box will be in the cafeteria starting Monday, October 17th through October 21st. Thank you for your support!

 

 

Reminder: Deerfield Site Council

We are looking for one or two Deerfield parents to serve on the Deerfield Site Council this year. The Deerfield Site Council is a school advisory group that is composed of parents, teachers, and community members. The council members assist the principal in: 1) Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards, 2) identifying the educational needs of students attending the school, 3) reviewing the annual school building budget, and 4) discussing a school improvement plan.

 

The Deerfield Site Council meets monthly throughout the year. Our meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. Our first meeting of the year will be on Monday, October 17th and will be held virtually.
