MCAS Schedule for Spring 2019 (Elementary MCAS Schedule 2019-Deerfield-Draft)

The Spring 2019 MCAS schedule has been created for the elementary schools. The testing period runs between April 8th - May 21st. As with past years, the testing sessions for each grade-level have been spread out as equitably as possible.

Please be aware that this is a draft schedule and is subject to change.

Wednesday, October 31st

Students are welcome to wear orange, purple, and black on Wednesday, October 31st to show school spirit with these festive fall colors. Students should not wear costumes during the school day on Halloween. If your child’s classroom is having a classroom activity or celebration on Halloween that includes food, please check the food list with our school nurse, Mrs. DeAngelis, prior to the event. Thank you for your cooperation.

Candy Drive (Candy Drive 2018 flyer)

The following message is from the Wellesley Dental Group regarding their Annual Community Candy Drive:

All schools, institutions and civic organizations are invited to join Wellesley Dental Group's 11th Annual Community Candy Drive to benefit the U.S. Troops serving overseas. From November 1st to November 8th, we will be collecting candy, handwritten notes and cards for our soldiers. These items can be donated in the Deerfield lobby.

Our goal is to teach the kids lessons in giving by encouraging them to share their extra Halloween candy with our troops overseas. These sweet treats and the handwritten cards are a reminder of home for these soldiers, and a reflection of our gratitude. The packages will be sent via CarePacks, a non-profit organization, along with oral hygiene supplies.

To schedule a candy drop-off, please call (781-237-9071) or email us at candydrive@wellesleydentalgroup.com.

Let's keep this fun tradition going! Thank you!

Reminder: Create the Change Day Donation Opportunity (Project Giving Kids Flyer)

Deerfield parent, Wendy Thurmond, is helping with the Project Giving Kids Create the Change Day in Boston again this year. In the past, the Deerfield community has been so generous in helping collect items to be distributed to those in need.

This year we are collecting for The Jared Box Project. The goal of The Jared Box Project is to lift the spirits of children in the hospital by giving them special boxes filled with little toys and games. The boxes symbolize the importance of play and are filled with well wishes, hope, and love. Please read the attached flyer for more information regarding the donation items. We will be donating items at Deerfield through Friday, November 2nd.
