Early-Release Day on Wednesday, February 27th

Wednesday, February 27th will be an early-release day for students. Students will be dismissed at 11:25am and lunch will not be served in school.



Lost and Found

We have accumulated a large collection of items in our Lost and Found, including many articles of winter clothing. Please ask your child to check the Lost and Found for their missing clothing and/or please check the Lost and Found when you are at Deerfield.

Please check for items by Wednesday, March 6th. Any unclaimed articles of clothing will be donated to charity on Friday, March 8th. The Lost and Found is located near the main office in Deerfield.



Book Fair on Friday, March 8th

The Deerfield Book Fair will be held on Friday, March 8th from 8:00am - 4:00pm. The Book Fair will take place in the Music room and each class will visit the fair during the school day. Parents are welcome to join their child(ren) at the fair during their scheduled time or parents are welcome to shop before or after school.

Deerfield School Play on Friday, March 8th

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade actors have been working hard rehearsing their adaptation of The BFG, by Roald Dahl. They are proud to present their production on Friday, March 8th.


Performances times for Friday, March 8th:
9:00am: Deerfield School Performance (Staff and students only)
7:30pm: Evening performance



Reminder: Deerfield Movie Night on Friday, March 15th

The following reminder is from the Deerfield Student Council:

Friday, March 15th, 5:30-7:30 p.m.


Deerfield’s Annual Movie Night has arrived!  Come join your grade-level classmates this Friday, March 15th to watch a movie with your grade-level classmates. Students can wear pajamas and bring a sleeping bag or blanket if they choose.


Movie Night will be chaperoned by Deerfield staff and is only for students who currently attend Deerfield. This is a drop-off/pick-up event. Please drop-off your child at 5:30 p.m. and pick him/her up at the designated classroom (signs will be posted) at 7:30 p.m.


Students will have the opportunity to purchase snacks, drinks, and raffle tickets for $1.00 starting at 5:30 p.m. All the money raised at movie night will be donated to a local charity by our Student Council members.


Thank you!  We hope to see many Deerfield students there!

When send notifications regarding student dismissals, absences, and late arrivals, please direct your email to Deerfield's new Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Steverman, at jsteverman@westwood.k12.ma.us.



Reminder: STEAM Fair on Wednesday, March 13th

The Deerfield STEAM Fair will be will on Wednesday, March 13th from 5:45pm - 7:45pm. The theme for this year's STEAM fair is Reducing Waste. The STEAM fair will be set up as a maker's fair, which expands on the maker work our students do with Mrs. Krass. At the fair, students will be grouped by their project category, rather than by grade-level.
