Funding for the activities and programs we support is made possible through our PTO dues, as well as fundraising events and activities throughout the year.

December 2018

Dear WWIP Families, The holidays are a wonderful time of year to help out those less fortunate. This year, for the second year in a row, the PTO has decided to "adopt" some local senior citizens in our own community, through the Westwood Council on Aging, and partake in a “Giving Tree”. The tree is up in the front lobby/entrance of the preschool. It is decorated with paper mittens-- each labeled with suggested items for 30-40 of our senior citizen neighbors; many who would otherwise have little or nothing during the holidays. If you are able to, please grab a mitten and bring your items in by December 14th so they can be delivered to the COA, with time for them to distribute by the holidays. We will have the preschoolers decorate gift bags for the special deliveries to our community members. The seniors are beyond grateful when they receive their gifts. Thanks in advance for your generosity and thoughtfulness with this endeavor!

Some of the suggested items are: Gloves, scarves, hats, warm socks (men's and women's) Slippers (men's and women's, sized medium and large) Men’s and women’s pajama sets Men’s and women’s bathrobes Toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss Chapstick Soaps Lotion Candy- both sugar and sugar-free options (packaged and sealed; chocolate and hard candies) Holiday cookies- sugar and sugar-free options (packaged and sealed; preferably in a tin) Holiday crackers Believe it or not, some of the seniors will feed their animals before they feed themselves, so dog and cat food are also suggested items
