2025-2026 School Year
Dear Westwood Public Schools Families and Community,
It is a true honor to join the Westwood community as the Interim Director of Student Services for the 2025–2026 school year. I’m excited to be part of a district so clearly committed to the success and well-being of all students.
With over 24 years of experience in special education, including 13 years as Director of Student Services in Norwood, Wellesley, and Cohasset, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with students, families, educators, and school leaders to build strong systems of support. I’ve always believed that education is a journey we take together, and that every child deserves the tools, encouragement, and care they need to thrive - not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well.
While many aspects of student services are built to respond when challenges arise, I am especially passionate about being proactive - planning ahead, collaborating closely with schools and families, and creating environments where students can grow and succeed. I believe in thinking beyond “what’s always been done” and finding meaningful ways to support every learner.
As I get to know Westwood, my priority is to listen, learn, and build relationships across the school community. This includes being visible in our schools, connecting with families, and supporting the incredible educators and staff who make this work possible. At times, the responsibilities of the role may take me away from buildings, and as a newcomer to Westwood, there will be a learning curve - but please know that my commitment to students and families is at the heart of everything I do. I appreciate your patience and partnership during this time of transition.
I’m genuinely looking forward to working alongside you - to build on what’s already strong, to face challenges together, and to ensure that every student in Westwood feels supported, seen, and celebrated. No two days in this work are ever the same—and that’s exactly what makes it so meaningful.
With gratitude and excitement,
Lori Cimeno
