Early-Release Day on Wednesday, March 1st

Wednesday, March 1st will be an early-release day for students. Students will be dismissed at 11:25am and lunch will not be served in school.

Classroom Celebrations

All food and drinks consumed by students during classroom celebrations need to be approved by our school nurse, Mrs. DeAngelis, at least 2 days before a celebration occurs. Once the food and drinks have been approved, no changes can be made to the menu.

This policy is in place for three reasons:

1. To ensure the safety of all students

2. To ensure that students are eating healthy food during classroom celebrations

3. To provide time for the school to inform parents of children with food allergies what food will be provided and give them an opportunity to provide a safe treat, if necessary

Thank you for your cooperation. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Science Fair

The Annual Deerfield Science Fair was held on Wednesday, February 15th. As always, it was a wonderful evening filled with so much student-centered inquiry and learning. Thank you so much to all of the family members who supported the Science Fair by volunteering in the library to help students select experiments, supporting their child(ren)'s science work at home, serving as Science Mentors to our young scientists, and for making the time to attend this special event.

A special "thank-you" to our Library teacher and resident science-expert, Mrs. Krass, and to our incredible Science Fair Committee, Anne Innis, Sarah Duggan, Emily Murphy, and Sofia Travayiakis. Your enthusiasm and tireless efforts helped make the Science Fair a huge success.
