Principal Survey (Reminder)
As we near the end of the 2015-2016 school year, I want to offer you a formal opportunity to provide me with feedback on my performance as the principal of Deerfield. Feedback is very important to me and something I believe can impact communities in positive and transformative ways.
My vision for the Deerfield School is to help foster a school community that provides the highest-quality education to all students and where all students, staff members, and families feel a sense of connectedness and belonging.
I have created a survey that includes several statements designed to encompass the full range of my responsibilities as the principal of Deerfield. Please access the survey through the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DFPrincipal. Please let me know if you have any difficulty accessing the survey. The survey will remain open until Friday, June 24th.
I look forward to learning from your feedback and using it to improve as your school leader.
Dismissal on Tuesday, June 21st
The last day of school this year will be June 21st, which will be a half a day with no lunch served. The Deerfield school dismissal will take place at 12:05pm on that day. As on early release days, there will be no separate Kindergarten Buses. All students will be dismissed at 12:05pm.
Report Cards and Class Placement
Students Report Cards for June will be mailed home on Friday, June 24th. Please let Mrs. Miller know if you do not receive your child's report card by early next week.
In addition to the June Report Card, your child's teacher assignment and class list for the 2016-2017 school year will be included in the envelope sent home on Friday. The class placement process is very extensive. The classroom teachers, special educators, specialists, psychologist, and I work on class lists over the course of several months. We review information about each child’s academic, social, and personal development and use that information when making placement decisions. Our primary goal is to create balanced classrooms in which each child continues to learn and grow.
As I have previously shared, all class placements are final. Please contact me if you have any questions about the class placement process or about your child's placement.
