Early-Release Day on Wednesday, April 13th
Wednesday, April 13th will be an early-release day for all students. Students will be dismissed at 11:25am and lunch will not be served in school.
Lost and Found
We have quite a few items in our Lost and Found, including many articles of winter clothing. We will be donating all items from the Lost and Found to Cradles to Crayons over the April vacation week.
If your child is missing items of clothing, please check the Lost and Found by Friday, April 15th. The Lost and Found is located near the main office in Deerfield.
Deerfield Walking Club (flyer)
Our school nurse, Mrs. DeAngelis, is once again starting up her Walking Club for the spring. The Walking Club meets before school on Mondays and Friday, starting on Monday, April 25th. It is open to students in grades 3-5.

Principal's Coffee on Thursday, April 14th
I welcome you all to join me for a Principal’s Coffee on Thursday, April 14th, during which I will share some more information about the upcoming PARCC tests. There will also be "Open Forum" time to talk about other topics. The Principal’s Coffee will take place in the Deerfield Cafeteria from 9:00am to 10:00am.
Staffing Updates
Mrs. Karen Fergus has completed her first week at Deerfield as our new Lunchroom Monitor. She is doing a great job and we are happy to have her at Deerfield. Thank you to Mrs. Nesbitt and Mrs. Erickson for helping Mrs. Fergus learn the rules of our cafeteria.
Heather Cote, the K-12 Director of Performing Arts, has hired Ms. Emma O’Neil as the Long-Term Music Substitute for Mrs. Saada-Smith. Ms. O'Neil will begin shadowing Mrs. Saada-Smith on Monday, April 11th. Please join me in welcoming Ms. O'Neil to Westwood.
