Early Release Day on Friday, December 22nd

Friday, December 22nd will be an early-release day for students before the December vacation. Students will be dismissed at 12:00pm and we will not have lunch or afternoon recess in school.

 

 

No School on Monday, December 25th - Monday, January 1st

All Westwood Public Schools will be closed on Monday, December 25th - Monday, January 1st for the December vacation.

Staffing Update: Deerfield Campus

Amy Garber has resigned from her position as Deerfield’s School Nurse. Please join me in thanking Amy Garber for her hard work and dedication to our school community over the past 2+ years. We wish her all the best with her future endeavors.

 

Amanda Fairbanks will be moving into the role of Deerfield’s School Nurse beginning on Tuesday, December 19th and will remain in that position at least until the transition into the Pine Hill School in February. Please join me in welcoming Amanda Fairbanks to the Deerfield campus. Please also join me in thanking Laura Cucchi for all of the skill and care she has provided our school community over the past several weeks.

 

 

Reminder: Lost and Found

We have accumulated a large collection of items in our Lost and Found, including many sweatshirts and jackets. Please ask your child to check the Lost and Found for their missing clothing and/or please check the Lost and Found when you are at the Deerfield or Hanlon campuses.

 

 

Reminder: Pine Hill Site Council

We are looking for Pine Hill parents to serve on the Pine Hill Site Council this year. The Pine Hill Site Council is a school advisory group that is composed of parents, teachers, and community members. The council members assist the principal in: 1) Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards, 2) identifying the educational needs of students attending the school, 3) reviewing the annual school building budget, and 4) discussing a school improvement plan.

 

The Pine Hill Site Council meets several times throughout the year. Our meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. Please contact Mr. Baumer if you are interested in serving on the Pine Hill Site Council during the 2023-2024 school year.
