01/09/23Week of January 9th

Teaching and Learning Highlight:

This week, I would like to share some learning and recent work done by our third-grade students. On Friday, students in grade 3 shared their snowman construction projects. The objectives of the project involved designing a snowman, determining the materials and cost required to build the snowman, and then writing an advertisement to convince others to purchase your snowman. These presentations were a culmination of class work that integrated math, science, persuasive writing, art, and a whole lot of creativity.

Early Release Day on Wednesday, January 11th

Wednesday, January 11th will be an early-release day for students. Students will be dismissed at 11:50am and we will not have lunch or afternoon recess during the school day. Students are able to get lunch from school on early-release Wednesdays. They may stop by the cafeteria at dismissal and get a lunch to take home. If students are going to Extended Day, then they will have lunch at the Hanlon School when they arrive and do not need to get a lunch from the Deerfield cafeteria.
