Spring 2023 MCAS Results and Student Reports

The Student Reports containing Spring 2023 ELA and Math MCAS results will be mailed home on Friday, October 6th. These reports will only be received by parents of current fourth and fifth grade students who attended the Deerfield School during the 2022-2023 school year. 

 

Please let Mrs. Abdou or Ms. Staulo know if you have not received the Student Report by Wednesday, October 11th. Also, please let Mr. Baumer or Mrs. Olson know if you have any questions about the report or would like to discuss your child's results.

 

 

Pine Hill Site Council

We are looking for Pine Hill parents to serve on the Pine Hill Site Council this year. The Pine Hill Site Council is a school advisory group that is composed of parents, teachers, and community members. The council members assist the principal in: 1) Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards, 2) identifying the educational needs of students attending the school, 3) reviewing the annual school building budget, and 4) discussing a school improvement plan.

 

The Pine Hill Site Council meets several times throughout the year. Our meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. Please contact Mr. Baumer if you are interested in serving on the Pine Hill Site Council during the 2023-2024 school year.

 

 

Time Capsule

We will be putting together Hanlon and Deerfield time capsules to install in the Pine Hill Elementary School. If you have items to be included, please consider contributing to the time capsules.

Curriculum Night Feedback

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted feedback regarding this year's Curriculum Night.

We also received feedback from Pine Hill faculty members. We will review and organize the information we received and share it with you and Pine Hill families in the next couple of weeks.

 

 

School Committee Meeting: Thursday, October 12th

The monthly School Committee meeting for October will be held on Thursday, October 12th beginning at 6:30pm at Westwood High School.

 

 

Reminder: Early Release Day on Wednesday, October 4th

The next early-release Wednesday of the school year will be next Wednesday, October 4th. Students will be dismissed at 12:00am and we will not have lunch or afternoon recess during the school day. If students are going to Extended Day, then they will have lunch at the Hanlon School at the beginning of Extended Day.

 

 

Reminder: School Picture Days: October 2nd (Hanlon)

Our School Picture Days will be held on Thursday, September 28th for the Deerfield campus and Monday, October 2nd for the Hanlon campus. Students brought home order forms for school pictures last week.

 

 

Reminder: No School: Monday, October 9th

All Westwood Public Schools will be closed on Monday, October 9th for Columbus Day.
