Reminder: Early Release Day on Wednesday, September 28th
The first early-release Wednesday of the school year will be tomorrow, Wednesday, September 28th. Students will be dismissed at 11:50am and we will not have lunch or afternoon recess during the school day.

Thank you so much to Margaret Donahue, Kaitlin Vernon, and the entire Deerfield PTO for providing a delicious dinner for our teachers before last week's Curriculum Night! We truly appreciate your generosity and ongoing support!
Curriculum Night Resources
It was such a pleasure to see so many of our Deerfield family members at Curriculum Night last week. If you were unable to make it to Curriculum Night, I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher to receive any information that was shared during the classroom presentation.
In addition, here are some resources that were shared during Curriculum Night and will help orient you to the Deerfield School and/or the 2022-2023 school year:
No School: Wednesday, October 5th
All Westwood Public Schools will be closed next Wednesday, October 5th for Yom Kippur.
No School: Monday, October 10th
All Westwood Public Schools will be closed on Monday, October 10th for Columbus Day.
School Picture Day: October 13th
Deerfield's School Picture Day will be held on Thursday, October 13th. Students will bring home an order form for school pictures this week.
Reminder: Important Reminders Regarding Arrival Procedures
Our school day begins at 8:50am. At 8:45am, a bell rings and students to line-up for morning announcements before proceeding to their classrooms. Students who arrive between 8:30am-8:45am will begin their day on the playground where staff members supervise a morning arrival time. In the case of inclement weather, students will proceed to the gym and cafeteria during this time. Please do not drop your child off before 8:30am. We are not able to provide supervision of students prior to that time.
Students who arrive after 8:50am are tardy and must check-in at the main office before proceeding to their classrooms. Please make every effort to help your child arrive before our 8:50am start time.
Reminder: "Day Of" Dismissal Changes
If there is a "day of" change to your child's default dismissal plan, please enter the change into School Dismissal Manager by 11:00am. If a dismissal change is needed after 11:00am, please email the change to Deerfield's Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Abdou, at jabdou@westwood.k12.ma.us.
Thank you for your cooperation. Following this procedure and timeline will help ensure a safe and orderly dismissal process for our students.
