Grade 4 Band Online Information Session Monday, September 8th 7:00- 7:45 PM

We hope you'll join us for our online Grade 4 Band Informational Meeting this Monday, September 8, from 7:00-7:45 PM.

During the meeting, we'll cover everything you need to know about the Grade 4 Band program, including:

An overview of the Grade 4 Instrumental Music/Band Program.

 

The instrument selection process, including available instrument choices and options for obtaining an instrument to use in band.

 

Important deadlines for getting started on time.

 

Expectations for practicing and how to best support your student at home.

Tim Bowditch from K&C Music Company will also be on hand to explain the instrument rental process and answer any questions.

Fall Family Picnic Thursday, September 11th, 5-7:00 PM

Please join us for a fun evening at the  Sheehan Playground. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with familiar faces. Plan to bring a picnic dinner and a blanket for your family to enjoy. Several local restaurants offer great take-out options.  We hope to see you there!  You can order pizzas here!

 

Early Release Wednesday, September 17th

Dismissal will be at 12:00 Noon, and lunch will not be served.

 

Sheehan Fun Run Thursday, September 18th, 10:00 AM

We’re ONE week away from the start of our Sheehan Fun Run fundraiser where we will have fun and build community while we work to reach our fundraising goal.

Key Information to help you during the fundraiser:

 Goal: $20,000

 For: field trips and busing, enrichment programs, and teacher appreciation

 Kickoff Date (in school): 09/09/2025

 Event Date: 09/18/2025

Donations for our Sheehan Fun Run will be collected through our fundraising platform: MyBooster.com

Don’t forget about our exciting partnership with Dave & Buster's! When you sign up your student(s) on MyBooster.com, and get a $1 per-minute donation, they earn a 60-minute Dave & Buster's Play Pass. Once signed up, they will be entered into a schoolwide sweepstakes for a Dave & Buster's MEGA VIP Party! Students can earn additional entries by completing sharing tasks on their student dashboards.

How to Start on MyBooster.com:

• Choose “Sign Up”

• Enter your School

• Enter your Personal Information

• Once you sign up, it’s time to share via Facebook, email and text!

Tips for Success:

• Set a goal for how much to raise and make a plan with your student on how to reach it.

• Share, share, share using our easy online tools!

• Make sure to thank everyone who supported you after you reach your goal.

The schedule will be as follows:

Grades 3-5 Classroom Presentations - 6:00 - 6:30 PM

Principal's Welcome in the Sheehan Cafeteria - 6:40 -7:00 PM

Grades K -2 Classroom Presentations - 7:05 - 7:35 PM

We hope to see many that evening.

Westwood Day Saturday, September 20th

Westwood Recreation is hosting the 13^th  annual Westwood Day on Saturday, September 20^th  

As part of the Westwood Day celebration, the 1 Mile Fun Run promotes “School Spirit/Pride.”  This event challenges each school to participate and show its spirit as a group. The elementary school with the highest percentage of students participating and school spirit will be awarded the perpetual trophy to proudly display at their school until the following Westwood Day.

We are asking your help to spread the word with your students. This is a free event and participants can register online or on event day. Parents are welcome to run with their children.
