Boys State and Girls State are summer leadership and citizenship programs for high school juniors sponsored by The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. The Girls State and Boys State programs give students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in state and local government. Both programs are held at Stonehill College each June. The American Legion covers the full cost of the experience for up to three girls and three boys from Westwood. If participating the program impacts students' attendance, the absences would be considered excused, and students are given the opportunity to make up exams the following week.

Students who are interested should look for an email from Ms. Haberman in April alerting them to an informational meeting. For more information about the program, visit the Boys State and Girls State web pages.

If you have questions about the Boys or Girls State program, please email Assistant Principal Tom Millett.
